In Greene County district court Steven Craig Gibson, 52, of Guthrie Center was sentenced to two years in prison after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of gambling- false statement on employment application. The prison term was suspended and he was placed on probation for two years. Gibson was fined $625 with a $218.75 surcharge. He must also pay $350 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees and $100 court costs.
Persons pleaded not guilty as follows: Lyric Marie Stier, 21, of Marshalltown, operating without owner’s consent; Jesus M. Zuniga Jr, 18, of Jefferson, burglary- third degree (motor vehicle), carrying weapons; and Grason Trevor Lansman, 18, of Churdan, possession of marijuana- first offense. Trials were set for July 18 in every case.
Cases were initiated in district court as follows: Robin Kay Pickell, 60, of Luther, operating while intoxicated (OWI)- second offense and unlawful possession of prescription drug (two counts); Suzanne Marie Eliserio, 55, of Altoona, OWI- first offense; Rick Thomas Weiss, 47, of Fort Dodge, OWI- first offense; Kimbeerly Ann Mustang, 37, of Des Moines, OWI- first offense; Zachery Allen Waters, 20, of Paton, unlawful possession of prescription drug, theft- third degree, and in a separate case, criminal mischief- third degree, trespass; Daniel Trey Jack Knippel, 24, of Boone, intimidation with dangerous weapon.
